Hays is entering his first season at HDI after spending the last decade on the sidelines in D1 college basketball. He was assistant coach at Sacramento State for three years where he served as the defensive coordinator, director of analytics and director of scheduling. Prior to Sac State, Hays spent three seasons at the University of Arkansas as Special Assistant to the Head Coach and Director of Analytics. In his tenure, Hays led the program's analysis of on court performance and recruiting evaluation to help the program reach two Elite 8's in the NCAA tournament. Hays began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno and was a part of three conference championship seasons.
