Matt began his decade-plus career in data science after graduating with a master’s degree from Harvard, where he served as a teaching assistant for graduate-level statistics.
For over 15 years, he has worked as a data analytics consultant, helping businesses, non-profits, political campaigns, and sports teams to leverage data and analytics to gain competitive advantages. During his career he worked for nearly a decade as a political consultant in the field of polling and voter targeting strategy, and helped lead the data analytics departments for two different U.S. presidential campaigns.
Matt began working with college basketball teams in 2017 and has spearheaded HDI’s methodology and product development since the company’s founding in 2019. In his role at HDI he has consulted with dozens of college basketball teams, including the 2023 and 2024 men's national championship teams. He also served as HDI's primary consultant with the 2024 gold-medal-winning USA Basketball Olympic team in Paris.
